Quails are one of the many birds in Upland Hunting: Quail, pheasant, grouse, woodcock, prairie, chicken, chukar, grey partridge, and others. Upland hunting takes place generally in open fields. These birds can be found over a wide range of habitats from deserts to mountains. Dogs are often used to find and retrieve the game. Bird dogs are trained to track the scent of birds through the air. The term bird dog refers to breed like pointer, English setter, red setter, German shorthair pointer, Nova Scotia duck-tolling retriever, and brittany. it is recommended to actually take your bird dog through at least a month of conditioning and exercise prior to the hunting season. With the proper training, a dog can be one of the greatest tools of a bird hunter.
